This engagement is a part of US Water Alliance’s role as one of the nation’s Environmental Finance Centers (EFCs) to help communities across the country access federal funding for infrastructure projects that improve public health and environmental protection. The EFCs will deliver targeted technical assistance (TA) to local governments, states, Tribes, Territories, and non-governmental organizations to protect public health, safeguard the environment, and advance environmental justice.
Anticipated Results
CIS will provide technical assistance with planning and assessment, partnership development and engagement, project delivery oversight, securing funding and financing, and program management support. Key tasks may include assessing and documenting water infrastructure needs for communities using a One Water mindset and keeping in mind climate impacts; contributing to, reviewing, implementing, and helping coordinate community work plans; supporting capacity-building and training of communities; identification and development of funding options; supporting communities in developing and submitting State Revolving Fund and other related funding applications; and collaborating with other team members, including US Water Alliance staff and their partners, who together will provide comprehensive TA to communities throughout the country.
This project is relevant to the Justive40 initiative, a national program to ensure that 40% of the benefits from federal programs reach environmental justice communities.
